Yadkin County Humane Society houses all of our animals in foster care in member's homes. We do not have a shelter facility. Appointments to see animals must be arranged with his/her foster parent ahead of time.

Hi everybody - I'm Jack. I'm 3-4 years old and I was abandoned by my owner. My foster family has no way of knowing my exact breed since I was a stray on my own when I entered foster care - their best guess is a German Short-Haired Pointer/Dalmation mix. I've waited such a long time for the right family to want me, sometimes it's hard to keep hoping they'll come along, but I know they are out there somewhere.

I'm a dog that needs daily exercise. My favorite thing to do is retrieve a tennis ball that you've thrown. I love jumping up and catching it "on the fly" if I can, as my pictures show you!

I spend time inside with other dogs during the day and get along well with them. I'm also fine with cats. I'm completely housebroken and also sleep inside at night. I love spending time outside, riding in the car, and being with people. I'm very good with kids - but I am energetic and I really like to chew on stuffed animals, even if they aren't mine, so children ten or older would probably be a best fit for me.

I'm working on not pulling on the leash, and have enough energy to be a good partner for an adult who enjoyed running with me. I'm very loving, and bond quickly with people.

I've been neutered and I'm up-to-date on my shots. I'm heartworm negative and take monthly preventative. I weigh about fifty pounds.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

Appointments to be introduced to animals in foster care can be arranged with foster parents to meet your schedule; however, please keep in mind that most of our foster parents do work full-time.  If you would like to see an animal in foster care, please contact their foster parent through the email address provided in the animal's bio. Adoption fees are $75 for kittens/cats and $100 for puppies/dogs - this includes age appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, and the spay/neuter.
