YCHS has two options available for spay/neuter for Yadkin County residents, if you do not live in Yadkin, we have provided some links below for neighboring counties for your convenience:
The “Virginia Daniels Spay/Neuter Assistance Program” was established in 2006
to provide free spay/neuter and rabies shots, if the pet has not already been vaccinated,
for qualifying low-income residents of Yadkin County. Ms. Daniels earmarked these funds
for the new Animal Shelter as long as carbon monoxide gas was no longer used. As this
method is still the primary method for euthanizing the animals at the shelter, we have
followed her wishes that the funds be used for spay/neuter assistance.

Any Yadkin County resident whose income is less than 150% of the Federal Poverty
Guidelines qualifies for this program. An application is available here if you'd like to
download and print one.

For those residents that do not qualify as low-income, but are still looking for the best price
possible for a spay or neuter, another option is a pre-purchased voucher to
the Forsyth County Low Cost Clinic in Kernersville.
Please note that your pet(s) must be no more than eight years of age to be altered
through this clinic. Current pricing is as follows:
Female Dog - 40 pounds or less - $65
Female Dog - 40 to 70 pounds - $75
Female Dog - 70+ pounds - $85
Male Dog - 40 pounds or less - $55
Male Dog - 40 to 70 pounds - $65
Male Dog - 70+ pounds - $75
Female Cat - $45
Male Cat - $30
Rabies Vaccination - $10*
Parvo/Distemper Vaccination (dog or cat) - $10
Feline Leukemia Vaccination (cat)- $10
Heartworm Test - $22
Feline Leukemia/FIV Combo Test - $28
* - Required at the time of the spay/neuter if they
are not current on the shot
If you are a Government, State, or School employee, please see the special offer details directly from the clinic on our homepage - these prices will save you money; however, you have to go through the clinic to receive them.

Include a note detailing what your check is for (e.g. Female Dog - less than 40 pounds),
your animal's name, and a contact number for you if it's not printed on your check.
Once we receive your payment, we will return a voucher and directions
to the clinic/instructions for scheduling your appointment to you in the mail.
