Chuckwaggin' Pet Food Assistance Program

In November of 2006, YCHS began a partnership with several local grocery stores.  Whenever a bag of cat food, dog food, or cat litter is broken or cut while stocking shelves, they donate the contents to us via containers we provide. 

The food is packaged and delivered to Meals on Wheels nutritional sites throughout the county, and delivered to senior citizens who request the food with their weekly meals.  In addition, we provide food to low-income residents who qualify for our Virginia Daniels Spay/Neuter Assistance Program and request our help.

We have been fortunate to have recently found a source for dog food that we hope will provide us with an ongoing supply; however, we continue to need cat food donations at this time.

We try to cultivate partnerships with local businesses that sell pet food to allow us to assist more families in Yadkin County.  At this time, we partner with the following businesses:
